Huawei y600-u40 firmware compatibility - GSM-Forum

Would like to know if y600-u20 firmware can be used to flash y600-u40,I read from someone on forum that he did use it and works..Downloaded SD firmware but phone wont go into recovery

How do you do that?Do you simply change the model numbers?
