or any other way to reset it to factory default

you need original cd for only version mac and reste factory defaut or install new OSX

hold option when booting
if not work try command+c
this will give option for format

also you can do this

1. Reboot
2. Hold apple key + s key down after you hear the chime.
(command + s keys on newer Macs)
3. When you get text prompt enter in these terminal commands to create a brand new admin account (hitting return after each line):

mount -uw /
rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone
shutdown -h now

i could not break new osx password with osx 10.6.3 dvd any other way to break its password (osx 10.8 )

you boot from the CD by pressing the c button just after the startup sound.
after having the cd, clicked on the Utility menu and then click Reset password

u need to reset bios

you can download from apple sotre and install with a usb disk if it's support.

work fine for me i have tested just now
