Water Damage
 

Customer brought in a mabook pro that a cup of water was dropped on it. After I dried it out, the laptop fans turn on for 2 seconds then turn off. Any idea's on what to change? maybe the battery?

clean the ram and dry the mac board with hot air.

i also have same issue with macbook airA1369
fan gets starts for 2 seconds and than gets off
some time it does start and work fine but this happens once in hundreds

i tried to reflow and cleaned with ipa

same condition

and body have schematrics from which i can know which is power ic and related power section

a hot air ****er would be best for internal cleaning or drying. Try it out. the shutdown might be happen because water in ram or btttery.

Drying it out will not solve anything, at least not permanently. Take it apart and clean it with denatured alcohol. Take the board and put it inside a bowl full of denatured alcohol and seal it. Leave it there for 30 minutes, take it out, let it dry and install it again.

1st clean the audio port and check water damage that place...

Take out the battery and hard drive. Most likely the data will still be good. The battery, you'll have to examine.
If it won't power on, most likely you'll need to replace the logic board.

Hi, i've had the same issue on a Hp laptop there is few years of that. It was the power mosfets of the motherboard that were bad.

On the outside look you will not understand. It is necessary to check the circuit, check whether the battery is working correctly, dry all the boards and wipe with alcohol. The main thing is to protect the motherboard from moisture and dry it well.
