Member: 1938435 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 208 | 1)Install MobileTerminal in Cydia. 2)Start playing an mp3/song in your Music library. 3)Open MobileTerminal and ping -c 99999 -s 1 apple.com 4)Install ReSpring app from Cydia(not Respring Fast). 5)Hit Respring. iPhone will respring and song will appear in flipboard menu, but it won't be playing or paused. If it's paused, it will close out in a few minutes, and if it's playing, it risks crashing. There's also a risk of this crashing. It seems like MobileTerminal doesn't stay running because I no longer have Backgrounding installed, but for some reason, it has to be initiated while the song is playing. I can't get it to initiate by loading a webpage. It can probably be *******ted by using location services though instead of MobileTerminal. I need to examine battery life using this method. It's probably similar to having the song playing vs simply appearing in the bottom flipboard. |

Member: 1938435 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 208 | iPhone is lagging moderately using this method. I think it's consuming too much processing power or RAM, which explains the battery drain. I am testing on a 5C, so it might be better on a 5S. This is not a long-term solution. |

Member: 1938435 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 208 | Make sure WiFi is off. 1)Install MobileTerminal in Cydia. 2)Install Insomnia in Cydia. 3)Open MobileTerminal and ping -c 99999 -s 1 apple.com I'm gonna let it sleep for 10 minutes to see if it times out after that time. Obviously, there might be a better app to stop standby. I wish there were a solution where the phone could sleep, but it seems once 3G stops for a second, you lose it altogether unless your carrier sends data continuously to your SIM card, which doesn't happen for most countries. |

Member: 1938435 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 208 | I want to be able to use WiFi, so this solution isn't feasible. Does anyone know of an app or way to send background text messages continuously? Thanks. |

-Enable backgrounding for safari/chrome. -Open some HTML5 webpage with sockets, for example, an online chat. T With that, you'll be sending and receiving data continuosly. Is important to enable backgrounding for the web browser, because if not, when you press home button, the app will freeze. I'm only guessing.

When I lose signal for more than a few seconds, I lose data & incoming calls as a result forcing me to change bundles, restart, change bundles back, and restart again. I need to find a background text solution quickly.

Member: 1938435 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 208 | Sorry, I can't send iMessage to this number. Do you have Apple ID that I could use? New update: it turns out for the last 3 days my Mini 2 had a freezing glitch causing me to believe the ping command was lagging the iPhone. I changed unlock chips and now no longer have the freezing. Battery drain has improved to about 7% per hour while idle. This should last about 12 hours with moderate use assuming most of the idle battery drain can be ignored while using the phone. New command(not sure it changes anything): ping -c 99999 -s 1 -i 2 -q apple.com |
