The esim is not locked to a network at least it shouldn't be as the Apple watch esim is unlocked..my series 4 watch was bought thru Sprint but I activated cellular on it with my TMobile line..it's the nano SIM portion that is carrier locked..Esim won't be supported till 12.1 I'm on the beta and it's a menu option but ur carrier has to support it and enable it. What happens with esim is under iOS settings u can add a cellular plan but it requires a barcode or informationfrom your carrier to activate. Here is what it looks like: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Esim is not yet available to use unless u are on iOS 12.1 beta and your carrier had officially rolled out support..in the us no carriers have officially done so.. also esim should be unlocked but the nano SIM is locked which is what rsim unlocks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
