R sim8+ Iphone 5 Sprint to AT&T - GSM-Forum

I am having a ton of problems, I purchased a R Sim8+ to unlock my Sprint iphone 5, and now when i insert the AT&T sim it says sim not valid.

I began by inserting the Rsim with the new ATT nano sim and telling it the new carrier would be att but now it doesn't recognize it as valid. I must be doing something wrong.

I tried the patch and it installed the rose program but when i press on the app it never executes, it just starts and kills itself.

Any help would be great.

try manual 7digit imsi for sprint : USA Sprint(CDMA) 3160100 or 3160101

How do I do that when i insert the rsim now it doesn't start that program again?

Do I have to restore or something?

Put another sim with rsim then you will see menu option

Ok,

So let me get this right,

insert rsim with new sim
select sprint, since that was the carrier the phone is locked to

Then what do I do?

Do I put in the AT&T sim just like normal or do I need to run the patch first?

So now I am confused, I tried a new sim and selected sprint like mrfixit suggested and now it seems to be back to thinking it is a Spint iPhone again and it still wont recognize the new att sim. WTF am I doing wrong.

Super Frustrating,

Also does this mean i need yet another sim.

So any help? I'm totally stuck. I feel like I was guided into the wrong direction based on the instructions.

ios7, I tried to do a full restore but it automatically went to the newest version.

Ok,

So can I just clarify some things because i seem to be confused.

During a normal installation I want to take the rsim insert it with my new nano sim, one for the provider I want to to use.

Then I want to select the model of phone and then tell the program what carrier I want to use, or do I tell it the carrier that it was previously locked to as mrfixit implies?

After that it will install and then I restart the phone, do I take out the rsim at this point and just put the same nano sim from the new provider in by itself and it should activate, or do I have to download the patch first and then it will activate? or do i activate it somehow with the rsim still installed?

Because that is pretty much what i did the first attempt but when i inserted the new provider sim it tells me that it is not valid, even though it says that the carrier is now att.

I was however not able to run the patch the first time it would just kill itself after a second of running. I was able to run it the second time but now it seems to be running back on the sprint network so thats not very helpful, and i have no way to verify it.

I think I am close, I just seem to be missing a step somewhere.

I tried 4 different r-sim 8+ with this sprint iphone 4s and use 64k sim cut to nano and always cannot see sim, message: no sim but phone can see bigger micro sim please explain if I need patch to make rsim 8+ work with this 64k normal sim card?

Okay this is what you do

1- Insert At&t sim with R-Sim in the phone
2- Select Type of Phone (iphone 4S or iPhone 5 )
3- Select Carrier to which the phone is Locked to NOT the Carrier you want to use (In your case i think you are using a Sprint phone and At&t Sim Card - So you will select Sprint)
4- Accept
5 -Turn Phone Off
6- Turn phone back ON
7- Activate if needed and you will get Signal ( Remember the R-Sim and At&t Sim stays in the phone all the time and in future as well )
8- If needed Install Patch to get 3G

Ok,

Update time, I have successfully gotten the phone to make calls & make and recieve txt messages, however I don't get any carrier data services, it has the e for edge but it says "could not activate cellular data network" when every i try to use it. Any suggestions I tried the irosetool patch and it appeared to work but still no luck.
