Member: 2334089 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | unactivated iphone 5 iOS 8.1.2 on EE Uk i bought an iPhone 5 locked to EE uk network. Seller sent me it already activated so i was able to check "EE 18.0" as carrier info, but i restored it with iTunes because i need Italian interface so now it must be activated. I was thinking of using R-SIM 10 or similar to unlock my device for Italian Sim and i read instructions on rsim5 site ( in very bad english) but i have some doubts that i hope some of you can clear to me. First of all : is the RSIM-10 able to activate my iPhone ?? ..or i have to activate (with any EE Sim) before to be able to unlock baseband with RSIM ?? On eBay most of RSIM sellers write "Your phone should be ACTIVATED prior to attempt unlock" but on manufacturer site they speak about "unlocking and activation". Moreover the official video shows unlocking steps on already activated devices, but reading some answers to video comments it seems to be possible also to activate. (p.s. as far as i know jailbreak of 8.1.2 is possible only on an already activated device so it is not possible to hack-tivate by jailbreaking like it was with Redsn0w etc.) I'm a bit confused about this point. Second thing : i use an "old" Sim, i think it should be 64K or 128k at most, what i have to do to enable 3G connection with RSIM ? Should i install a patch ? Thank you for reading and please reply if you can give valid informations. |

Member: 2278176 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 10 | For iPhone 5 i am sure Rsim 9 pro works like charm...Used to have 1, no jailbreaks and patches needed but have to have a EE sim for activation prior to unlocking it via Rsim 9 pro...but trust me, used 9 pro for about an year and u vl forget dat it is actually network locked....9 pro+Iphone 5= PERFECT COMBO, advantage of having an iPhone 5 !!!!! COMING TO RSIM 10, U DON'T WANNA KNOW ABOUT IT SERIOUSLY, ITS FAR FROM PERFECT.... |

Have you used 9 Pro also on iOS 8.1.2 ? About EE sim : it would be enough to get (on eBay) a 4G PayG ("pay as you go") EE nanosim, with 0£ credit ? Will i be able to activate my iPhone 5 in Italy using it ? Quote:
I'm convincing that probably a product like Rsim 9 is less buggy and more stable to be used on an iPhone 5 than the new Rsim 10. I see that there are a lot of many other different versions : 9 pro, 9 plus, 9 gold, air2 , mini2 etc. It would be great to know which of them is the best solution for my situation. I.e. what is the difference between 9 Pro and 9+ ??

Member: 2278176 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 10 | I used to have an iPhone 5 EE uk locked, 9 pro worked on that flawlessly for the entire time but on iOS7 not on IO8 ....After that got a iPhone 5s EE uk and now i am spending hell of a time with 9 gold and probably would do the same with 10. C i am in Australia at present and have a EE sim picking up network in Australia, so using a EE sim in ITALY wound't be a problem for activation i guess. Don't ever rely on 9+, gold,air2 and mini2...they are ol same with different versions. 9 Pro is unique and gave a mammoth market. These are specifically designed for iPhone 5 and are worth every penny. So if u can activate EE in italy with a sim which probably u vl with ease , 9 pro is the way to go....Don't ever never think about 9+, 9Gold, Air2 and mini2...ol u have to do is buy a EE sim, c if it activates and den order a 9 pro and u r getting them for dead cheap these days !!!! |

I hope it will work with iOS 8.1.2 because Apple does not sign iOS 7 anymore so a downgrade it's impossible. The only thing to decide is the IMSI code to use, i found UK Orange and Tmobile codes : 2343301 2343302 2343303 2343320 2343334 23443091 but nothing specific for "EE". I will select "Orange UK" from the menu at first time, than eventually i will enter those IMSI manually.
