Will my iPhone 5 (au KDDI, iOS 6.1, jailbroken) work on T-Mobile USA with R-SIM8+?

Hi everyone,

I've done as much research as I could on this topic, but I hear a lot of somewhat conflicting information. This is my case:

I have:
  • iPhone 5, A1429 CDMA model from au KDDI (Japanese carrier), same as Verizon and Sprint
  • iOS 6.1
  • Jailbreak
  • R-SIM 8+

I read that:

Quote:
The CDMA A1429 supports LTE bands 1, 3, 5, 13, and 25, as well as CDMA EV-DO Rev. A and Rev. B (800, 1900, 2100 MHz), UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz), and GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz).
I want to use it with:
  • T-Mobile USA with an uncut (probably 128k but not sure) nano SIM card
T-Mobile USA uses LTE Band 4 (1700 MHz/2100 MHz AWS) for their 4G LTE so obviously I'm not going to get that with my phone model. However, they moved some of their 3G HSPA+ to 1900 MHz so I should theoretically be able to get that where I will be.

So, I've tried to research as much as I could and a lot of people are complaining about not getting 3G on their Sprint iPhone 5 (same model as mine?) with iOS 7 without a patch.

But I'm jailbroken with iOS 6 with a phone from au KDDI. Will I be able to get 3G with T-Mobile USA with a R-SIM8+? What patch would I have to install? Do I have to pay for it?

Thank you very much in advance!

So I must buy this patch in order to get 3G to work on my jailbroken, iOS 6 CDMA iPhone 5? Is there no other patch that I could install because my iPhone is jailbroken? My impression was that Rpatch was for people who didn't have their iPhones jailbroken.

I suggest you tried the free patch first. www.rsim5.com/nano4g . Dont buy a PAID patch yet. Not every A1429 iphone give a bad result.
You are on ios 6.0 jbed, so its very safe to use rsim. Also, you can patch anything with jailbreaked iphone, maybe you can just use sam from cydia to make it work.

I did this many times when i was on jailbreaked 6.1.2, only a small work on carrier.plist and a few folder, no patch needed
