So we talk here about zte mtk phones, right?

If you talk about qualcomm, this feature is called reset efs and it exists in qualcomm module from very long time, almost from begining.
Is really strange why you not see it till now.

If you talk about change imei, yes is not supported in latest vivo.
I'am ordered one phone and posible in next update will be added this.

About repair....read exe help, null imei in mtk can be caused by damaged security, corupted firmware , hardware damage or....erased imei.
If phone have erased imei, you can restore it.
In all other cases, you must solve first problem what cause null imei, simple restoring imei will not help.
This knowlege is very old in mtk and remain same from very begining, starting with mt6573 cpu and till now.
Also was many posts in forum about, will be very usefull for you to use search.

To make it more short.....in case of null imei in mtk, is not posible to make 1 button repair.
First need to identify problem what cause null imei.

Kindly check mtk 6572 nand remove privacy. Many models go dead after remove privacy. This is after update.

Nand phones remain same from very old time, in last update was nothing maked for this phones.
Nand phones need to select by cpu and by storage, for example mt6572 and storage nand.
If you will select emmc and other cpu will give unpredictible results.
