Member: 1833072 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | SGH-i917 Unlock Problems I've started my second round of usage for my dongle, and I'm running into some problems. I'm trying to unlock and flash my Samsung Focus, but it will not detect. I have it in USBDiag mode as well as USB modem mode. It is showing up as a COM Port, but upon reading info, I get this: COM : 4 Selected Model Selected : SGH-I917 Reading Phone Info.. Phone Not Found, Please Check Port, Driver, Phone! No Device Found... USB Debugging is enabled in phone? -------------------------- Log saved to: logs\SGH-I917_adbreadinfo.doc I've been trying to install every driver, having to use compatibility mode with windows 7. I'm using Windows 8 x64. The one thing that will not even open is the file SSDN_V1.1.808.7165_SETUP_whql. I'm not sure about the importance of it, but I have a hunch it is hindering my unlocking. Any clues? Edit: Also, I do not have ADB/SDK installed. I assume it is not needed since I'm playing around with a Windows phone. |

First idea is to press help button in exe and read instruction. Phone must be connected on diagnostic port.

Also, I reinstalled the uncompatible drivers using XP sp3. Still no luck. Edit: Also downloaded Windows SDK 7.1 as well as android SDK/ADB. I'm almost certain it is a driver problem at this point. Last edited by Robsim111; 05-08-2013 at 14:11.

Member: 1833072 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Okay, I followed these steps with no avail. 1) Installed Windows 7 x86 on a new partition. 2) Install NCK Dongle Drivers as well as Smart Card Drivers 3) Installed latest the files SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones, Samsung USB Driver Installer, and SSDN_V1.1808.7165_SETUP_whql (The other files I8700 v5.2_V1.2.1050.0, usb v1.3.400, and Usb driver seem to be duplicates of each other, but I have tried installing previously) 4) Enter diagnostic menus 5) *#7284# ------> "Changed to Modem, USB Diag." 6) *#9090# ----> 1 -----> "USB_Diag selected" 7) Turn on NCK Dongle for Samsung devices and select SGH-I917 Model. 8) Com Port shows: "COM4:=SAMSUNG Mobile Modem Diagnostic Serial Port (WDM)(COM4)" 9) Press "Read Info" 10) Output = "COM : 4 Selected Model Selected : SGH-I917 Reading Phone Info.. Phone Not Found, Please Check Port, Driver, Phone" _________________________________________________ I have no clue where to go from here. Drivers are all installed, no Windows 8 compatibility issues, and phone is detected. I tried to be as thorough as possible to no avail. |

I just looked up the c3300k cable with a male RJ45 adaptor, but I do not have one and do not have easy access to one. Are you saying that the dongle/computer are able to detect the phone but not communicate with it? Any other possible solutions that do not involve extra hardware? Also, I really appreciate your help Orbita. |

Member: 1833072 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Orbita, I think I might have found the problem. I went back through and tried to play with the Dongle Drivers. No matter what I do though, the actual smart card shows up as uknown driver. Could this be the problem? I've tried combinations fo the Rocky200, SCR3xxx Drivers, and the SmartCard2000 drivers. The SmartCard2000 consistently fails to install though, so I think it is the problem. I can't find any solutions on how to install them with Windows 7 32bit. |
