i just want the easy way for modifying/editing the ringtones n pics from DAT files i know procedure exist through hex editor but it's u know quite boring n hard to do ...so i just want any simple way or any set of instructions ...

it depends on what type of data.
and the structure of that data.
you are talking about pictures, what type? jpg,png,bmp,gif?
each one has its own data structure.
for example bmp structure (standard one)
1. header
2. info
3. color palette
4. data
so u should look for the header that points to a bitmap file
after that u calculate the size.
now you have the start and the end which is the start+size
also ringtones are the same.
well, the problem which may bother you is that, most of such file (flash/packages) could use CRC code for some kind of data protection.

thanks for the reply friend here i'm attaching one sample DAT file which currenly i'm using through MST backup/restore process. in this DAT file pictures are stored in bmp,gif format also. n as u said ringtones are same.
the main point is when we use MST backup/restore process it's so simple n easy to use it hardly takes 4 or 5 mints to complete but we can't upload tones by our own choice so i want any simple way through which we can simply upload/edit tones/pics to dat file .

i'm sorry for replying late here. infact i was searching the dictionary to find correct n right words to compliment and praic ur hard n unique work. But i'm unable to find any suitable words to thank you for ur kind help.

i've tested dueextract n it's working like magic. who said DAT editing/creating is impossible. when we've a good intelligent friend like u who'll always make the difficult task so easy through their genius.
