running more then one operator similtaneously - GSM-Forum

hi guys;

We can put more then one operator inf. into one sim card
but, at one time we can use just one of them. it is just a switching
mechanizm.

but;

why we can't run more then one operator similtaneously
that's infromation are loacated a sim card already

could we do it ?

i think it's hardware limitations, anyone got better idea?

yes it's hardware limitation..
phone can't connect to 2 networks at same time..

maybe there is a possibility now with phones which are ready for other technique's like a gsm + 3G phone or gsm + IP calling (skype a like)

of course if hardware does this, we don't need to think about it

infact (that is just my idea) it don't be to hard. if we can show (it can be a phantom entity ) GSM phone
as alive (at one time similtaneously more then one operetor) , it'll be enought
for us. So if we can control comminication between mobile station (GSM phone)
and BTS (opertator's base station) , thats means we can do it (perhaps it could be some hard

).

now, we must think how to proggram (to control comm. channel)
this channel with java or C.

does anyone have a idea abut this issue.

not possible (in GSM for sure)

simply because the time slots and time frames set up.

every few micro seconds, phone is making communication with network in "time slot". 8 time slot make one frame, so many frame make one super frame then on to hyper frame.

if phone was to try and operate on two networks at one time, it would be missing packets in one or both frames. with too many packets lost, it is kicked from network. i think you will be kicked from network in a 477uS

how would u say that it is exactly 477uS it is common for all stations

one time slot in GSM900 system is set as 477uS.

that is same for every mobile station, base transeiver station, every network, every country, anywhere in the world.

it is set in GSM900 specification, and enforced in the handset by crystal oscillators which are controlled by phase control commands tx/rx on the home broadcast channel.

if someone is not working 477uS per frame, they are not on the network
