Member: 254046 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Samsung z510 Firmware Hacking I have recently become interested in modifying the firmware of my phone the z510. I am currently studying the S4_TIM.BIN image from firmware Z510AIEL2_FC1 and I am wondering how this image is used by the phone. When flashing, is this image simply copied over to the phone and executed as one large binary when the phone boots or does the image contain multiple packed files which are extracted and copied to the phone memory when it is downloaded. Also, when downloading firmware to the phone is the boot code responsible for copying the files or does the current firmware on the phone do it? Is there any other helpful info you guys can provide me with to help me in my understanding of this phones firmware? I have posted similar questions in another area of these forums but after finding this section I figured this is where the people who might be able to help would probably hang out... Cheers. |
