Until box compilers using Delphi 7 because nobody want to migrate in Unicode better is to use 32 bit ...

.... also Win8/8.1 with small cosmetic "Clasic Shell" can look as WIN7 also with little bit changed functionality but this is not problem.

Im using Win7 x64 since 2011 and have lot of problems time-to-time. Fortunately i have a Thinkpad T60 with XP. Most of the problems are related on the drivers, need to disable driver signature checking or enable test mode. My advice: use 2 PC-s with different systems, or a PC and a laptop for old stuffs

I've been using Windows 7 32bit for 2 years on my laptops for cdma and gsm related projects. Some drivers and programs aren't compatible with 64bit.

There is also one BIG bug with WIn7 32-bit, if used as service pc,
for flashing, unlocking etc.

It's stupid "driver store", which, after you connect over 400+ phones,
needs a loooong time to initialize upon boot (windows hangs for couple minutes then unfreeze and work normal),
so perfect solution would be 2 (or more) HDD's,
one with Win7/32 and one with good, old, WInXP 32 (yes, it exists as 64-bit too )

p.s. I tried that "driver store" scenario on different pc's, and it's same.
couple hundred of devices, drivers installed, and bug occurs...
I also tried manually cleaning driver store, but just made things worse.
Conclusion : If you plan to use Win7/32-bit, Full Reinstall is a must,
after some ~6 months period.
Except that, I didn't have some other issues, with boxes, flashing etc.
All works normal, as in XP.

DC-unlocker site has a small program, called "DC-Uninstall_Device". Have you tried it?

O...M...G. I've been wondering WHY my computer takes 15-20 minutes to boot sometimes (Windows loads, but about 20-30 seconds after fully loading, it freezes for 15-20 minutes). I searched for months with people with similar problems and came up with nothing. I replaced the RAM, hard drive, and even switched laptops. Even the event log didn't show anything odd, so I just decided to live with it. This definitely explains it. Thank you so much for posting that.

You can use devcon to remove all USB devices that were ever connect to the computer.

Yes, yes ... that's it.
I'm facing that old problem again, and this is some ~7th Win7
(lol, coincidence in numbering), for those last few years.

Best cure - Fresh install (Yes, I know it's a HELL of setting all up again ).

Yeah, I tried it, and after it I had more problems.
(every new phone - installing drivers again, some could not be recognized, had to manually install etc.)

I haven't tried that, but that's good info.
(my win7 is again in that "slow bootup condition", so will try soon)
