does AT&T permanently lock their T68i phones? - GSM-Forum

I got one from AT&T and don't know if its permanently locked or there is a way to unlock it (I know a company that does it locally using some hardware).

ALL providers lock the phone to their network. You can get it unlocked too.

Sorry, but this statement is bull****. Only in some countries all provider mobiles are locked. Austria is such a country.

In Germany for example mobiles with postpaid contract are never locked. Only prepaid bundles are locked.
