How to repair GDFS for Sony Ericsson K610i with no Backup, using SE Tool Box 3

    Hi,

I've flashed and unlocked hundreds of K610i with SetoolBox3, with no problems, however when i was doing few weeks ago, (ironically while making backup of GDFS) it failed. (I'm not sure how, but I discovered some of my files had vanished from the folder, after my dad used the computer.)

Now the phones do not power up, and there is NO red light, just completely dead, when I try to flash, I get:

    GDFS startup failed,error is 04 [1D]
loader GDFS startup failed, that is fatal

Now I don't have backups, as it failed to backup and thats what killed it & I don't know how to really fix the GDFS, however in the past I have fixed by using Sony Ericsson Update Service, but this only works when the phone has old firmware on it, and then it lets you update it, My phones already have latest firmwares, so there is nothing to update.

I have tried using some tips, and I've looked at many guides, and tips over the last 11 months on how to fix GDFS, but nothing seems to be clear or work.

I am told it is really easy to fix using cruiser and a file called:
    K610_ by_ gsm_enggine.gdfs

However I only have SetoolBox 3, but I am told that it's now possible to fix GDFS without backup, and without Testpoint. (I have no idea about Testpoint)

Some people say use old version of setool software, I have used old and new, but doesn't seem to work, I'm not sure if i'm doing it right or using right files.

I have tried putting the file, K610_ by_ gsm_enggine.gdfs in the Misc files: and then clicked Write GDFS, but it says:
phone CID not supported in that mode

Can someone make a simple 1,2,3 step or however many steps are needed guide for my problem. And send me any files needed, if needed.

You are a genius, saved me a lot of money,

I normally flash / unlock using all top settings, usually works a treat, however as I got broken gdfs for 3 phones, that method would not work for them, but I did what you said, and it let me flash them, and turn phone on, HOWEVER when i turned phone there was error on screen, contact service provider, BUT, I went to Sony Ericsson Update Tool, and it found latest software, and reinstalled. Now all works.
