This is a tutorial about : How To Repair W850 if detech k700
You will need:
1.Setool
2.DreamBox
3. Testpoint
4.Skills...........

Step 1:

Use Setool and check if it reads like that (i.e k700)

Steps 2 : 1.Repair GDFS area by using Test point with Dreambox SE

Steps 3: Unlock & Repair GDFS Security Block

Steps 4 : Write GDFS (file located below)

Steps 5: Unlock and repair GDFS Security blocks again

Steps 6 : Now use Setool and Identify

Steps 7 : Flashing and Choose "complete phone" with Setool

Steps 8: USE the THANKS button.

solve this problem many by replacing flex ribbon, no need to flash and tp

absolutely useless and completely confusing solution.

- you do not need setool2 & dreambox, you need ANY of it, of course, setool2 is preferable.
- when w850 (or ANY other db2020 phone) detected as K700 (mean firmware startup procedure not completed)
user should check steps in order

- check, if secunits mismatched (by identify function), if yes - repair secunits either with testpoint procedure,emptyboad fill or with kukuruzer interface to semc factory device (preferred for unexperienced users)
test phone, if not helps, then
- reflash phone with LATEST firmware version
test phone, if not helps, then
- make gdfs swap (read secunits backup, write gdfs from working phone, write secunits backup back)
test phone, if not helps, then
- check phone hardware (99% of "K700" cases)

ANY of other "suggestions" and "solutions" are complete nonsense and should not be even readed.

hello Sir,
Sorry to bother, But i used to had this problem but this one was really difficult to REPAIR so i used the above solution to resolved.

This problem frequently come from:
1.Screen Damage
2.Top Keypad
3. Flex cable.

Please correct me if am wrong. So i did all the above but still the same thing. So the solution i posted did resolved my problem.

And for my POINT of view its not NONSENSE it just an experience that repair a PHONE for me and am JUST sharing it with ALL of you. !!

An also i repair most of w850 - k700 problem by changing either FLEX or Screen !! this one was really TOUGH!!!!

your "solution" is exactly 1+2+3 of my post, but it is done with two tools, while it can be done with either of them.
but i should admit, testpoint now if just for fans, cause it is much simple to use "kukuruzer interface to semc factory tool", then stop it after step 2 (convert to r&d) and use normal tools to finish phone repair.

Explain in more detail. What to you mean ? This solution is used to repair a damage phone RED blink or Flash LCD. After this procedure the mobile will be cid 52
