Smile P990i bluetooth internet pan set up guide

After how many sleepless nights, finally, I was able to connect my P990i to Bluetooth internet pan. Whew! Ok, lets start the ball rolling….

Lets fix first your Bluetooth software in your PC. Follow the guide in here http://www.telusplanet.net/public/wladykad/ It is important to follow all what is being told in the guide.
For some reason, after following the guide and finally installing the widcom v4 software, the Bluetooth icon in my pc remains red which means no Bluetooth device is found. And for that I cannot initiate pairing. Maybe because it is
instructed in the guide to cancel the installation when prompted to attach the Bluetooth device to the pc . So, I have another guide for that which can be found here http://rapidshare.com/files/33614655...nical.pdf.html . Now, your Bluetooth icon in your pc should be blue and white which means the device is already detected. Whew! Continue pairing now your P990i to your pc as instructed in the guide. Make sure that pairing is successful.

Now double click “my Bluetooth places “ icon in your desktop-->view my bluetooth services-->my network access-->properties-->select “allow other devices to access the internet /LAN via this computer..
Now go to control panel-->network connections--> select both the local area connection and Bluetooth connection , right click and make a bridge connection. You will now have “connected” network bridge connection. Make sure that the local area connection and Bluetooth connection are connected before making a bridge connection.

In your P990i, create a new Bluetooth internet PAN connection. Make any account name you want and set it all to automatic, the role is “client-access point” and make sure that you choose your pc’s Bluetooth device in the device tab. After making an account make sure that you choose it to priority 1 in the groups tab.

Now your ready… It is advisable to reboot now your fone and pc…

Before making any Bluetooth pan connection, make sure that the all three connections in network bridge connection is connected. Just go straight to your P990i’s web and it will automatically choose Bluetooth pan connection, it will prompt you in your pc that your P990i is trying to connect, just click ok and there you have it a Bluetooth internet pan connection.

How will you know in your fone that your internet connection is Bluetooth and not your gsm networks internet/3G? Simply tap the globe icon and you will see if your Bluetooth connection is the one that is connected…The Bluetooth icon in your pc will turn green and in my Bluetooth places the “ my network access” icon will also turn to green…

By the way, after the pairing, I activate back my anti virus software and windows firewall to OFF.

Hope this will help you guys....
