Remove 'locked' WAP profiles with Setool..?

    Question for the Experts...

Remove 'locked' WAP profiles with Setool..?

I've have a SE T68i from Cingular that WAP profiles are 'locked' and cannot be deleted by normal flashing with dongle and DIV software.

If I was to backup the firmware from my other uncustomized T68i, could I write this firmware to the Cingular T68i and **** out the locks on their WAP profiles..?

    Thanks in advance.

I really wouldn't do that. There's a 30% chance that you will end up with low standby time or non-working bluetooth.

Contact me on IM when you have about 30 minutes to spare (and have the phone and terminator cable with you). I can walk you through the steps necessary.

Hmm, i remember something like this, i used decustomised GDFS and AVR firmware and if i remember correcrly (not sure its really so) after Master Reset - Reset All locked WAP profiles was gone without reflashing ARM parameters block. But i'm not sure it was so, just try it by youself.

Decustomizing the GDFS will only get rid of some cusotmizations. Many (namely AT&T) leave their customizations in the ARM flash, in an area that the EMMA (and DIV) flashes conveniently don't touch.

And to top it off, if you flash the wrong type of t68 with the wrong arm flash you will have bad standby/no bluetooth.

Unfortunately, this part of it is never overwritten... trust me, it took months of working on it to get the solution

    WAP Profiles finally gone...

With help from Merwin, we managed to get rid of those 'locked' WAP profiles and no adverse effects of losing bluetooth or standby time...

    Many thanks again

It is a bit more complicated... Basically, Merwin had gave me a 'program' of his own to run and he asked what result (ARM Flash ID) it came back with. Based on that, he then gave me another file to flash the phone with and it removed the locked WAP profiles.

I think you will need to direct your request to Merwin to see if he would want to release the steps and files on how to do this as i think there more to it than just flashing an 'ARM' file to phone.

so merwin, it is inputting a certain hex value somewhere in the ARM to do this? if you could post instructions for this, it would be great. thank you.
