Is it possible to unlock this phone for free. It's currently on Vodafone.

I have tried using SETool but I think i need credits (even though I've seen threads saying it's free to unlock)

When I run SETools I get a error Set tool smart card not found.

Do you own Setools hardware.?

standalone patch method

1. select correct model
2. uncheck all settings
3. back to odm tab
4. press unlock

note, that such method will work only for old security locosto-based phones.
if you will get error while attempting to do that method - you have new security phone and should try other methods.

server-based patch method

1. select correct model
2. on settings, check "signed mode", "use alternative security bypass"
3. back to odm tab
4. press unlock

Thanks for the reply.

No hardware and when I try to run setools I get ERROR setool smartcard not found. After that the program quits.

The version of setools I've got is V1.1289

Have got another version of settools, setools 2 lite, this does run but my phone not listed on the drop down menu.

OS Win7 64bit

you cant unlock this phone unless you have setools box/dongal,
setool lite is a free version which alows you to flash some phones but not unlock..
your best and safe option is take his phone to a shop....
