Just read this

Here are some details abou the new SonyEricsson dongle.

Entering bootstrap is done using a small SIM card placed inside the dongle.
This Smartcard is made by Schlumberger and is a Java-Card, type Cyberflex.
Exactly name is: "Cyberflex Access 32K Developer".
All Schlumbergers Cyberflex cards have approvment from US Government
to be used as cryptographic modules.
More detailed, it was approved by standard FIPS 140-1, Level 2

What is FIPS 140-1 Level 2?
A FIPS 140-1 Level 2 Hardware Security Module Device meets the
FIPS 140-1 Level 2 or higher standard by supporting cryptographic
key generation and storage within a hardware environment.
At this time, most institutional certificate authorities use a
FIPS 140-Level 2 Hardware security module that cannot be
physically accessed by unauthorized personnel.

Also, same SmartCard (Cyberflex) has got US DoD certifications and approvals.

More clear, even with a budget of 1000000$ (one milion $$$) this cards can not be cracked.
In another way, any microcontroller (Atmel, PIC and even Dallas 8051 secure)
can be cracked (read protected contents from inside)
with a budget of 10000$-20000$.

What is the function of this SmartCard?
To full emulate EMMA2 SmartCard, who calculate the 64 bytes
challenge pairs to access (enter) bootstrap mode.

Look at attached pictures to be all clear

And for that people who still not believe,
just buy a dongle, buy some Schlumberger Java Cards,
and check what's inside

Some dictionary:

FIPS - Federal Information Processing Standard
US DoD - United States Departament of Defense, or more clear, US Army

Your facts on the card security are correct, unfortunatly about the free versions, you are wrong.

Anyone in this business more than 2 years sees this same situation come and go 20 times :-)

Those r not my facts....I got this with my dongle....My words are only " Just read this...".

And regarding free soft: Yes, it's nice to have it for free and make some money on it, but when it suppose to unlock/flash expensive phones i will buy soft...

I also bought this dongle this week, I think the biggest problem is NOT being "affraid" this one will come free, cause it prouberly wont, but other products that DONT have this protection, where the author DIDNT invest soo much time/money in a GOOD protection,.....

cause for MOST "unlockers" it doesnt matter who the author is, they ONLY want to unlock/flash a phone for FREEEEEE

I'm too long in this business, maybe i become paranoic, but i have a lots of work every single day ( not just unlocking but hardware repairs too ) so i don't have time to use free soft - kill phone - try to make repair delaying angry customer... u know how it works.

I think that quality must be paid. I pay for good quality and my customers get good quality for their money.
