Member: 41951 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 3 | Upgrade from T616 to T610 is A success It was a X cingular Brand T616 which default working frequency is 850/900/1900. Although before upgrading it worked on the current network.. Because in China the provide CMCC uses 900/1800 as the default operating frequency.. Since the phone is unlocked before I got them so I just proceed to the upgrade right away¡_ (Due to lacking latest firmware support. I flashed the phone with R1L firmware since it¡¯s the latest version I can find for Chinese input and display) Hope the T610 R3C004 firmware will be out soon. So we can enjoy the improvements. Okay . Here we go¡_ Starting Div 8.4 . Connect the phone. Selecting the ARM and AVR file accordingly. And Click ¡°Make selected Jobs¡± After about 6 mins the flash was over and displayed a success¡_. But when I turned on the phone . The phone seems to be working okay but one big problem appears. Using the >*<<*<* entering the engineering mode. I surprising found that the phone now only works on 900 mHZ frequency and the damn thing Is that the phone cannot find a network anymore. *** damn it. I just reset the phone to try my luck. But it turns out to be a failure. Well. Being at a loss. I have no choice but to flash the T610 oringial GDFS file. But when I boot up the machine with full expectation it let me down The phone still won't work. My ***. Although the phone seems to be working properly. Just cannot find the Network. With the last hope, I reset the phone again and guess what ?? It all worked again. Just the phone was locked again. That was a small case. Using the ¡°Rebuild SP Area using OPT IEMI¡± it was easily unlocked again. And it phone is working perfectly. Wow. I really cannot believe it with my own eye. I enter the enginerring mode and found out the phone is operating at 900/1800/1900 . Great. It¡¯s really just what I wanted¡_ And I am very very happy about it. So my conclusion. There seems to be no hardware different between the T610/T616. Just software different . PS: I am waiting eagerly for the latest R3C004 China version of the T610. If you can have it please share it with us. Thanks¡_ PS: Although the T616 after flash shows 900 1800 1900 but i doubt that. Since the signal was not strong enough. I think it was still working on 850/ 1800 / 1900. The reason i flash this phone is that my friend wants Chinese support ON t616. That's all.. Last edited by isdnman; 11-08-2003 at 02:56. |

Member: 41951 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 3 | To nonu_don : I used a Terminator dongle To Kennyli: I don't have a PURE 1800 SIM card since the mobile provider in China run on both frequency 900/1800 Doesn't the info in engerineering proves the phone working on 900/1800/1900 ? |

Member: 1133 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 38 | How about 4 locks closed?? @isdnman Well, After flashing my T616 like the same way you did, it ended up 4 locks closed Any idea why?? I have used Full flash for AVR and GDFS and still the same. Blank Board flashing,Reset GDFS, Recalculate CRC's, .... everything avaliable in DIV8.4 menu and still the same. Best Regards |

Member: 41647 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Hi Isdnman: I am sure the 1800/1900Mhz bands are working on your "T610" right now. There is an easy way to check whether the the phone is working on 900Mhz. Go to the network setting menu, choose "select network". After a while, If you can see both "CMCC" and "China Unicom", the 900Mhz of your phone is working. Please Let us know the result. |

Member: 41647 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Sloba: Here is the solution to open 4 locks. 1. Open DIV8.4 2. Choose T616 (Don't choose T610) 3. Use "Rebuild SP Area using OPT IEMI" Now, All four locks should be opened. |

Member: 41647 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | I have both T-mobile T610 and At&t T616(which is converted to T610 now). There are still some differences between them. 1. The Bypass process of T616 is super slower than T610. (using div) 2. The screen of T616 is not as good as T610. |
