iphone 5s 16gb - backup folder on itunes is 43.8gb

hi all,

got myself an unusual situation, and wanted to check if anyone have an valuable advice on this. iphone 5s 16gb, have 2,9gb free, and customer was exchanging for iphone 7 32gb. But backup folder on itunes is 43.8gb, so iPhone 7 canīt write backup on it. I do this several times a day, and never saw such thing, why itunes backup is way larger than phone itself?

Takes around 22 minutes so backup can be finished in my pc, up to 40 minutes in other 2 (macbook pro and windows desktop), same size in 3 attempts. Before I make backup, and after, iTunes and 3u reads phone as 16gb. Oh, tried with 3u as well, same thing, some bytes (size) difference.

Can anyone give a hand on that?

Asked customer to buy 50gb icloud space, she did, but after 1 hour or so got error message that could not make backup due to lack of space. If 45gb space is not enough, itīs worse than with iTunes.

I could transfer most things manually, like pictures that are not already in icloud, can still back up whatsapp to icloud (no problems here), contacts are easy, but still would not know why this happen and what to do next time.
