If you hot gun does not a temperature regulator you most probably just cook the motherboard

johny I think you can start with infrared station, check here on forum, maybe someone will sold a used one for a good price.

infrared station is a good choice, do you know any reliable brand in this field, I don't want to waste money on bad equipment

If you are beginner you need more precise device, choose quality soldering stration, infrared station are for pro users.
