iphone 5s lcd shield plate removal

My iphone 5s got waterlogged and I saw youtube videos explaining a possible cure. I removed the 2 screws either side of the lightning charging port and pried the screen open to 45 degrees. Unlike in the videos the LCD shield is still in place after I pried the screen open. How do I remove it in order to get to all the bits underneath? Many thanks.

When you open the screen there are tabs that go along the side of the screen. They simply pull out however be careful since they have the tendency to jerk open. The finger print scanner is connected from the screen to the rest of the phone. It's right by the charging port on the inside. There is a tiny metal cover. Use something sharp to unclip it and the fingerprint scanner wire. After you unclip the finger print scanner simply pull the one side open. The remaining wires are at the top of the screen and go under a metal cover that is held down by 4 screws.

My way of doing it is simply open the screen a tiny bit, disconnect the fingerprint scanner, then open the screen the rest of the way.
