Cool iPhone 5 Bad ESN Verizon Activation

I am getting a great deal on BAD ESN Verizon iPhone 5 from a local pawn sim. I am planning to use it abroad for GSM Use.
I have few queries
1. Do I need a verizon sim to activate the iPhone after iOS7 or future iOS updates?
2. Do all the Verizon iPhone 5 are GSM unlocked???
3. Any know issues due to BAD ESN in future use with GSM Carriers abroad?

Simply I can't resist the deal.

Thank you very much for your help!

1. Can't i simply activate the Verizon iPhone with another GSM Sim card after iOS update while I am abroad? Or what to do if i update and i need to activate the iPhone for GSM Use while I am abroad?
2. What models are factory unlocked for GSM use then? The model i saw is iPhone 5 (MD665LL/A)
3. Thanks

1. Normally activation process need the original locked Sim to grant the access. Accept the unlock version will take any SIM to activate.
2. As we all know Verizon iPhone 5 will take any GSM Sim but I'm never tried on bad ESN yet.
3. no idea as never tried.

1. I am asking about activation after iOS updates, Do they still require the VERIZON SIM or any GSM SIM will do with activation after iOS Updates?
