Member: 2178547 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Bricked iPad 3, unknown error 9 thanks in advance to all the members of this forum for helping me, I hope to explain the problem I'm experiencing in a simple way. 3 weeks ago I tried to update my iPad 3 32Gb WiFi no JB to iOS 7.1 from 7.0.4 OTA, battery was 19% but it was charging. When I tried to install the update, when iPads are supposed to restart and update, my iPad turns off. I waited for more than 5 mins, thinking it was ok, but unfortunately it never came back to life. So I tried to turn it back on with the Power button, the apple logo shows up and after 2 secs the itunes logo with the cable sign. I plug my iPad to the PC, open iTunes (latest version), the iPad is recognised as Recovery Mode, then I restore+update the iPad. While iTunes is downloading the firmware my iPad disconnects and reconnects, and then again goes the message "Found iPad in Recovery mode" (sorry I don't know the exact words, I'm using the italian version). I don't press OK, so the firmware can be downloaded completely. Once the download is over and iTunes is tryin to extracts the files, iTunes "freezes" because the "found iPad in recovery mode" is still active, so I press OK, iTunes begins extracting the files and prepares the iPad for the recovery, but the iPad keeps on restarting over and over again getting the Error 9 (it says on the Apple website that it could be because of a bad cable, but I tried 4 more, same response). I followed every advice the Apple support could give, but still I can't fix this excruciating problem. I also tried on a Mac, and iTunes returns a 3194 error. The iPad is out of warranty, so I think I'm gonna sell it to someone interested in dissecting it for scientific purposes, because I guess no one had this "disease" before. Please help, thanks |
