My iPad 4 can't Lock screen but can power off

I did but still can't lock
Last version have Lock/unlock in setting
But iOS 8 don't have so I can't lock
But I can power off or screen shoot

I think there are solution of your problem.

1. Double-click the Home button.

2. Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.

3. Swipe the app up to close it.

Ipad mini also have the same problem
Change the home button
Or for ipad mini, shorting 4th and 5th connections of home button

guys there is a small flex attached to the original screen right beside the home button{sleep/wake sensor} desolder it and install it in the new screen, ipad is gonna sleep/wake perfectly then
