this one just jailbreaks the phone and then you will have no network. i think better wait for the proper solution

I did as te solution tell and ... everything is working I don't know what net was locked my Iphone 3G 8GB Black but now it works on PL ORANGE and PL PLUS cards without any problem I can call and I can send SMS recive also .... I've found that in this solution is lack of unload Comm.... there is a command via ssh to do this unload... (I don't remembre exacly) U can login to your Iphone via PUTTY from windows/mac/linux and after typing unload press TAB on keyboard it will autocomplete it after unloading last step will work without any problem after this "NO NETWORK" You must load Comm... by load command and restart Iphone (Turn OFF and ON)

I wonder if that works, and as you sais might be a good approach. as for me, seems like MuscleNerd knows what he is talking about, so until we get a solution for it, I decided to get a turbo sim... hope this works.

after step 16
launchctl unload /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist
and then 17 etc...
and after whole procedure
launchctl load /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist
and phone reset

that were missing steps for me to work
While ./BBUpdaterExtreme ..... there will be information about erasing flash and writing it takes about 4 to minutes with percent progress ... YES IMEI is changed to 01..... but network works wifi works sms works and so on ....

as I wrote for me solution WORKED 100%

Thanks Man... I do it like you say but i dont have network at all... btw, after few minutes it go at NO SERVICE

well thats another way to do it..if you don't want your iPhone being on the closet for quite some
time,coz solution for the real 2.30 baseband isn't out yet..

so better settle for this one and quit yakkin...

You must look if ./BBUpdaterExtreme write you an error ... if there is an error you must do like I wrote - NO NETWORK if you won't have any error it Will work for 90%

for me after this command phone is just restart and normal boot(icons after 30 sec)
