Post guide to the IPHONE 3g / 3gs UNLOCK SOLUTIONS existing TODAY 11oct2009

1. IF modem firmware / e.g typically the phone has not been updated.. since 3.0.1 or earlier then the solution is to use UltraSn0w (3g , 3gs) or purplesn0W (3gs)

2. IF the iphone has been updated you can try this method which works on iphones with bootloader 5.08
http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=837844

3. any iphone (any baseband) locked to vf aus.. full unlock by imei

4. any iphone (any baseband) locked to movistar spain full unlock by imei

5. ALL OTHER must use advanced hardware method. Which involves removing the Digital Baseband Processor making a readout with a eeprom tool, reprogramming the baseband (make erase).. then resolder back to iphone. After make erase with software on the base band.
Restore to old version.
= alot of work, and it only patches it so if customer updates.. gone again.. also it will void any warrant in the iphone and this IC is very hard to remove its glued and close to sensitive contacts also it seems to be more sensitive than normal ICs.

This method is only for extreme professional users.. even the nr1. expert in this method have killed a few iphones using this method

Some said to use bootneuter, but I think that is inside a software tool that is for mac. Is this correct? Is there a windows method or something I can download with cydia? I was able to jailbreak it so I have cydia on it.

  • iPhone 2G Users
  1. Download and Install Latest iTunes (iTunes 9)
  2. Start iTunes and Connect your iPhone to PC
  3. Now click on ‘Restore’ while holding SHIFT key, browse the downloaded custom firmware file (links below).
You have successfully Jailbreaked and Unlocked iPhone 2G. You do not need to use Ultrasn0w to unlock it.

Is this the method?
