Is a DC Power Supply useful for repairs on an iPhone? - GSM-Forum

Hi Guys, I was just wondering if anybody uses a DC Power Supply for repairs on an iPhone? I have purchased one recently and started wondering if we'd ever use it? If any of you experts use it out there please let me know for what purposes, thanks in advance...

I have 4 in a row that I use to replace the power supply on most domestic equipment when I am mending it.

Probably the most important thing it does is allow you to check the current that is being drawn. It's a lot of hastle to use it for an iphone though.

One thing you absolutely need it for is to charge the battery because the iphone will not charge it's own battery once the battery is close to empty, there isn't enough power to run the charging circuitry so you have to remove the battery and charge it directly to bump start it.

DON'T TRY THAT IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING.
