iPhone 3G Dead - Please help

I dropped my 3G and broke the glass (no physical damage to LCD). The phone did not turn on after the drop. I opened and took out the glass and LCD, checked battery and power and it seems OK, there is 3.5 volts under home button and at battery terminal even when disconnected from computer.

I dont want to invest in a new glass and possibly LCD screen if the motherboard is damaged. How can I figure out if the problem is the LCD or the MB?

I tried turning phone on with cables 2 and 3 in place from the damaged digitizer/glass with no luck, i.e. itunes would not recognize.

Any suggestions?

Bob

resolder which connector? and .... why?

Question is: How to figure out if the motherboard is damaged or the LCD? does the phone boot without LCD, or without digitizer/speaker cables?

Any insight from resident experts is greatly appreciated.

Bob
