iPhone 3G -> How to upgrade V2.0.2 to V2.2.0 instead V2.2.1 ? HELP!!! - GSM-Forum

Is there any solution unlocking iPhone 3G without universal-sim from version 2.0.2??? Currently iTunes allows to upgrade only to vesrion 2.2.1 only... what is the best thing to do?

If U On 2.2.1 And U Basband 2.30 The Only Way To Unlock By SiM Unlock

use itunes download 2.2 firmware if you 2 ready to upgarde use itunes connect iphone then hold shift tick restore find the 2.2 firmware thats it

Just download the firmware which says iphone1,2_2.2_5G77.restore.After downloading connect your iphone and wait until itues detect it. It will tell you to upgrade to 2.2.1 hit CANCEL. On the update screen hit shift+update and browse the above firmware which you downloaded and wait for it to finish. Thats it you are done

There is a sticky with all the firmware bundles at the top of this section....

Here is the fw bundle...

You can also just search around for an already created Custom ipsw, possibly somewhere in that stickied thread... That way you will not need to update and THAN jailbreak. Get it all done in one step.
