iPhone 3G Stuck On Verifying iPhone Restrore... - GSM-Forum

Hi.

I have here a customers iPhone 3G 8GB displaying some rather odd behaviour. Customer states they attempted an update to 3.1.2 through iTunes and the phone died. It will not switch on and using the various combinations of holding the power + home keys does not have any effect.

Plug the handset in with iTunes and iTunes states that the phone is in 'Recovery Mode' although windows states the handset is in 'DFU Mode'. iTunes gives you the option to restore. Select restore and the handset screen goes white for a short while, then the apple logo displays on the handset screen along with a status bar. According to the iTunes status bar, the restore completes and the iTunes status bar then displays 'Verifying iPhone Restore...' and the status bar on the handset is at about 75% but it just hangs there. I left it like this overnight and the following morning iTunes was still displaying 'Verifying iPhone Restore...' and the handset status bar still at 75%.

I have tried everything I know on several different PC's with both XP and Vista and it does exactly the same thing on all...just stops on 'Verifying iPhone Restore...' at about 75%.

Any ideas???

I have same problem with iphone 2g it goes till 99% and it stuck there, like on this pic:

First you'll need to try with latest version of ITunes, (uninstall old first) then restore with original ITunes firmware.
If that doesnt work you can try to restore with customised firmware-->> (use THIS to avoid errors when restoring.

i think i passed by the same ... ipone work or goes in recovery mode without cable ??? .. if no ... check the bat.

let iphone battery go completely flat, then plug in and try restore

I run few tests, like remove the battery but result is still the same when trying to restore it goes to 99% and now it says error 109. I think that is hardware issue. If somebody have some solution please tell me.
