I don't get it. Why is this so complex? I have: * iPhone 3GS with 3.1.3 OS * Mac OSX 10.6.2 (Snow Leopard) * iTunes 9.0.3 (15) * BlackRa1n for Mac I downloaded Blackra1n and ran it. It showed me the message that it was done. My iphone 3GS was jailbroken. But when I connected the iPhone to iTunes, it said "You will need to restore your iPhone before you can use it". When I click on the restore button, it tells me the software will be downloaded in 10 hours! (I am on a 100 MBPS broadband connection). So I cancelled the restore button and disconnected the iPhone. Now, when I reconnect the iPhone in iTunes it tells me my SIM Card is unsupported and it doesn't connect me to iTunes store. What now? I want to: - Jailbreak - Unlock - Start using Which software should I use? Is jailbreak different from unlock? Which URL should I download from (google is full of bloody confusing tools and paraphernalia!) Do I need 3.1.3 or should I go back to 3.1.2? Many tools such as "pwnage" either work on Windows or support only 3.1.2. Would love to have some pointers to a step by step guide with specific URLs. Thanks! |
@pkiula: If you have an iPhone 3GS and updated the firmware officially to 3.1.3 through iTunes, then there is no way to jailbreak it or to downgrade it to 3.1.2. You can look into the options: If you see a modem firmware higher than 05.11.07 (5.12 or something) then it is confirmed. This is what I learned until now. You will have to wait until the next firmware with the new iPhone comes out and the hackers (Dev team or Geohost) will release a new jailbreak. Sorry for the bad news. |
