Hello,

my son has bought an iphone 3Gs on ebay and it is locked by orange (france).

I want to install ios 6.1 (install via itunes restore). If I do this all data/information on that iphone is gone.

If I want to use evasi0n I get the message that the iphone isn't activated, but that isn't possible because there is a sim lock on that phone.

Can someone please give a step by step instruction manual what has to be done to get the ios 6.1 provided with a jailbreak and the simlock removed so that this phone can be used.

I have read >50 articles and tried several of them but I can't get the iphone 3Gs to work as it should be.

and please do not refer to other articles because I have read almost every article available but none gives a step by step instruction from scratch.

1.downgrade to lower version 4.2 or 4.1
2.jailbreak and unlock
3.upgrade to 6.0 by keeping baseband and custom firmware.
4.jailbreak by redsnow and unlock and activate( thethered)
5.finally make it unthethered by evasi0n.

Ps : use ur brain little as u already readed upto 50 articles!!!!

I already tried this, but does not work for me, can't boot thetered... (i don't know why)

But this is the only way to do it.

open redsn0w go to extras and press just boot and follow the prompt it should do it

It is already activeted and jailbroken, but I can't unlock it.

what iphone is 3gs 4g 4gs 5, frimware, etc

1. Open Redsn0w
2. Put your phone in DFU
3. Go to extras and select 6.0 frimware
4. then press jailbreak and untick the install cydia if u all ready have cydia in
5. select install baseband ipad
6. and ur done

if your phone is not activated
open redsn0w 0.9.15b3
go to extras
select ipsw 6.0
back
jailbreak
uncheck install cydia
check downgrade from ipad baseband
and after your phone is activated
now you can jailbreak the phone with evasi0n
