hi
i have got an iphone killed by update , i try to restore using itunes but it give error :the iphone could not be restored. the device isn't eligible for the requested build.

any solution to repair ....

this is solution.my english is poor im give you solution in french.
tu fait la mise à jour avec la version 3.01 et quand cela arrive a la fin il te donne erreur 1005 mais ne tiens pas compte de cela. tu le jailbreack avec raedsnow 08 en utilisant la version 3.0 et c'est ok.

with version 3.01 it show the iphone could not be restored because firmware file is not compatible

The Only Way To Restore U Iphone 3Gs To Change The Server In Host File In Windows To Make Itunes Think That He Talking To Apple Because 3Gs Must Connect To Server When U Restore And Apple Stop The Restore But The Important That U Must Have U ECID SHSH Files Befor U Try To Restore

There is no solution for now, I have the same problem, downloaded updates from Cydia, it killed my iPhone and I cant restore now.
iPhone cant be used for 6 days now, I use a backup phone, a very old one.
this isnt very nice for me =[
damn I want my iPhone back.
Damn apple.

these not only urs problem these is the problem with every one if u hv 3.0 firmware and want to update to 3.0.1 then also u will get these error only and if u hv 3.0.1 and want to restore back to that same then also u will get these error only as apple hv stop the process for update and restore of iphones .....

in these matter u cn only update ur phone to 3.1 and hv to w8 till the unlock come for 3gs and for 2g and 3g u cn update it with 3.1 unlock custom firmware...............................
