Why ? -- Because your computer is using a download manager. and saving it in wrong format.

1. the file should not be opened or u risk corrupting it.

2. open windows explorer

3. go to TOOLS -- FOLDER OPTIONS -- VIEW

4. unmark hide file extensions for known file types.

5. right click on file. RENAME. changet the extension (.rar or .zip) to .IPSW

there all done

You can change extension file from .zip to .ipsw
