trying to unlock my iphone 3g - GSM-Forum

hey guys

ok so .. i downloaded red snow ,ran it . it upgraded my iphone to 4.2.1
mf 05.15.04

i did that using redsnow 0.9.15b3 then in cydia installed and ran ultra snow.
When completed it doesn't allow me to use my chatr sim card.. so i know i haven't unlocked it yet..
it didn't change anything from 4.2.1 or 05.15.04

i then downloaded redsnow 0.9.6rc16 and this one is different i have to download iphone 3g original firmware for 4.2.1

that's the thing i cannot for the life of me find a working or recognisable version of 4.2.1 that the version of redsnow recognizes

and i ported my phone number to my old iphone which i just got fixed so i could use chatr not knowing i had to unlock my phone.. now , no working phone please , please , please help me

it says unable to recognize specified IPSW
I've tried downloading many official firmwares for 4.2.1 none work...
