It means you have not got afc2add in your iphone...you can install it by jailbreaking using redsn0w or updating cydia on your phone using wifi or a data plan...but because its 3gs 4.0 you not be able to do so cos there is JB available for 3gs 4.0

Just jailbreak yo phone with redsn0w or if its already jailbroken then update cydia u will find it installed

For those who were anable to jailbreak their iphone 3gs firmware 4.0.1 new iboot (05.13.04) u can use the link jailbreakme.com on ur iphone navigator (safari), it's very simple, after that, u can use this soft to unlock it. it works like a charm thaaaaax

Could someone please help me unlock my damn iphone. Nothing seems to be working.

I used Spirit to jailbreak my iphone (3g, 3.1.3, baseband 5.12.01, boot 06.04), then used ultrasn0w 0.93 to unlock it. Everything was working fine. I had full signal on my Orange sim card. I then switched off the iphone and turned it back on again and all the signal was gone. Now cant make calls. I then read on this thread to use redsn0w to jailbreak, I did this, I selected "Already pwned", the process went through ok. After my phone restarted. I used this unlocking software, all that happens when I click on the unlock button is a black window comes up with lots of text then goes away. I dont see nothing happening on the iphone screen. So then I turned the iphone off. When I switch it on it gets stuck on the apple logo.

Please help.

coz ios4.0 fw and redsn0w 0.9.5b5-3 are both buggy as of now..

Hi,

my 3gs is on 4.0 , I am unable to jailbreak it as the wifi in it isnt working (hardware issue). Is there any alternate method where in I can jailbreak it, because I would not be able to unlock it without a jailbreak.

its not very hard to JB 3g with redsnow
after JB with REdsow u wont get error.
