This tutorial is ok but not great, since it does't cover the problems, and just addresses to the some perfect situation when just installing this daemon do all the trick.
I have started one tutorial here http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=659019 and until now we have a 66% working solution and 33% not working which is not very cool since before trying this a lot of people can use theyr 2.1 baseband iPhone3g using some sim addapters like universal-sim etc... Once they try the new solution they will update the baseband , which make using sim adapters not reliable.

Yellowsn0w is working perfect
but fellows can't get signals after that
just see the last part of video carefully

now there is no need to add apt9.yellowsn0w.com as source
because yellowsn0w 0.9.1 app is removed from apt9.yellowsn0w.com
so see other tips
and for yellowsn0w 0.9.1 app
just download it from here http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=659236
and install it into ur iphone
