Android 7.0 Nougat Finally Released — Coming Your Way!

adroid’s latest OS update, the much await Android Nougat, is finally released. After many developer previews and a lot – truly a lot – of hype, we can experience the newest version of Android in our Nexus devices!

So what’s new in Nougat? So, so much. Unless you’ve been bootlooping for the last few months, you probably know that Android 7.0 comes with a redesign user interface that’s different and better suited for productivity in almost every element, with more efficient use of space and useful descriptions in the settings. Then there is the much-awaited multi-window and the ability to switch between apps faster for better multi-tasking. Vulkan API support for better graphics in gaming, Daydream VR, a refined Doze, smarter notifications and direct replies, custom quick settings, DPI tuner, data saver, better security, new emoji, and much much more!

So, what do you do now? You either wait for the OTA update to hit your device, or you flash the factory image onto your phone without delay right after downloading it from Google’s servers. We will update this article and add the download link as soon as it hits. Below you’ll also find a list with the appropriate download links once they released. Take it slow and make sure to do a backup and wipe for best results!

The following are supported devices for the Android 7.0 Nougat release: Nexus 6, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus 9, Nexus Player, Pixel C and General Mobile 4G (Android One). Sadly, the Nexus 5 and the Nexus 7 2013 will not be getting the update officially. But you can always count on sideloading the update as a custom ROM when the source code for the release drops.

While the update is yet to roll out to every device, users on previous developer previews have been reporting that they are receiving an incremental (varying between 50MB – 100MB depending on device) update that bumps them up from the last Developer Preview to the Nougat Update. If you can’t wait for the OTA links and the system images to go live, you can try signing in for the Beta program. Do note that leaving the Beta program will cause a factory reset.

We do have incremental OTA links (from the last developer preview) captured for a few devices: Nexus 6P, Pixel C.
