Can Nokia 2310 (ASIC 11) be unlocked by code?

I've read that with Asic 11 Nokia phones: 1110i, 1112, 1600, 2310, 2610, the calculators can not generate the correct codes. Is this still the case?

I have a Nokia 2310 Virgin that needs to be unlocked. (don't physically have phone, so must be done by code).

my calc can generate three types of code, but I have read of so many problems with this phone (in years gone) because it's ASIC 11, I want to provide the right one if possible

for UK it shows

- Virgin,
- Virgin - SPECIAL CODE
- Virgin (Some 3510i)

clearly the code would be one of the first two, if the calculator defaults work at all
