HELP plz can't enter NCK code in LG KU990i

I am trying enter in an unlock code into my LG KU990i but keep getting an error. This is what I am doing

I enter 2945#*990#

A security menu pops up and I select 1) UnLock USIM

Then I select Network Lock (i don't know if this is correct but I guessed it would be ..the other options available are networkSubset Lock, Service Provider Lock, Corporate Lock and SIM/USIM Lock)

After I select Network Lock a pink triangle pops up with a white exclamation mark inside and says 'not available'.

It doesn't give me a box to enter my unlock code and just goes back to the same menu again. I have tried this with all the other options and the same thing happens.

I am wondering if I need to do some sort of reset. If someone knows how to repair this I would be most grateful if you could share the solution.
