I need to relock it for testing.
Anyhow. The code I gave you works 100%.

karl2000: if you like to help me testing then don't unlock the new one. I'll give you some programs to test. We need to coordinate using msn. Let me know.

E5830 3UK.txt
How do you know where to find the unlock code in all that text?
Make up a procedure like how to find the unlock code in the E220 or the Maxon BP3USB.

I suggest you get the uploaders to zip up their txt file, goes from 760KB to about 38KB, easier to upload & download.

It's not a text file
It's binary.. and no need to zip it.

I'm coding a utility to do the job anyhow. I hate using qmat.

Update: I finished coding. The program unlocks the card in a second (ONE SECOND!!).

Now I just need to code port auto recognition.
At the moment you have to manually set the com port (newbies don't like this).

Any hint?
I'm coding in delphi7.

Then select: Read EFS and flag "Alternative Method".

Click "Let's go".

Link the file in this post. I'll give you the code

Note:
If anybody knows how the "alternative method" works I can make an all in one program.

open the readed file with any hex editor and search for 32 F4 02 32 F5 49
BOOM!!!
you found your unlock code

No need to search it's 0xFFE bytes before the last one
Anyhow you still need qmat/psas.. I just coded a program who does it automatically and without dumping all the filesystem
Even dc-unlocker uses a stupid and long method instead of this.. and they make you pay eur 15.

Wait for my program

I've got a E 5830 from T-Mobile in the netherlands.

The firmware isn't the newest.

I'm looking into unlocking it myself and 'documenting' the procedure in a python or other programming language.

I prefer working on Linux but can connect the device to USB on windows (vmware)

How should I dump the current image? What to alter before loading it back in? how to do so? How could I help the community while doing this?

Ok guys: the program is ready for the test phase.

Actual features:

1) an innovative way to detect the card (no scanning, no wait)
2) just one button to click.
3) 5.7 seconds running time.

fully automatic and idiot proof.

HI - just joined forum and noticed you have a solution to the locked modem. I was about to pay to unlock but of course would be very happy to try test out your solution if you would be happy to share the software.

Thanks in advance.
