IMEI question - GSM-Forum

hi im new to this forum and i had a question. im not a noob with phones and i have unlocked many phones using the usb cable and fowloing threads i have found but i wanted to know how those companys like gsm liberty unlock phones using just someones IMEI?? and there are many web sites that do this and remote unlocking. how did they find out how to do this??? thanks for any help. and sorry if there was a thread already about this. im planing on some day opening a shop for phones and i would like to know how to do this, or if you can point me in the right direction. or offer any suggestions as to what tools to use to unlock many different kinds of phones. thanks

just use a code calculator, this will be only for nokia's

yes i know about the code calculator. but i wanted to know about how the other companys could so it that way then there must be a way for us to do it. i already have the nokia calculator. thanks. do any other companys have that sort of calculator thing???
