"Input NP Code" - Huawei G6600?

Okay, so you know those Skilltester machines? I played one, and won a phone. Specifically a prepaid Virgin mobile, Huawei G6600.

I'm not with Virgin myself, I'm on a plan with Optus.
Of course, the phone is locked to the Virgin network and they want me to recharge up to $80 before I can be given an unlock code from them.
Well, given I already have a phone on a plan, I don't see why I would waste $80 of cash on doing prepaid recharge on a phone that isn't even worth $80. They sell for around $60. Despite that, my old phone is a piece of garbage, that has a cracked screen and half the functions no longer work, so I would like to use the Huawei with my own Sim.
So, anyway, I decided to try putting my Optus SIM into the phone and of course, it comes up with an error message saying:

"Input NP Code"

Great. I don't even know what an NP code is!
Can anybody help??


Phone is of course, a Huawei G6600
IMEI is 357510037149801

Someone else DID give me an Unlock Code, but the number was too long to be the same as this NP Code, so I don't know what to do here.
Can somebody please help???

I have this exact same problem. People keep giving me unlock codes, but obviously a NP Code and an unlock code aren't the same, as the asked for NP code is only 8 digits.

I tried both, it does nothing. The phone tries to think that its phone number and tries to make a call, then the error message pops up "Emergency Calls Only"
