Member: 31408 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | I'm a newbie but it would seem a decode box is used to calculate the code...Motorola giving each phone a number and that number being (i guess) within a chip that then is hooked up to a PC to be read. (i'm quite guilty too of thinking it was a closely held secret formula, like times by 3 and divide by 4 lol) I've posted a few times so far to gain a 8 digit code for IMEI 449275400637010 and some fella the other day was lucky to get his done.....seems lots of people can quickly do Nokia's but Motorola helpers dont frequent the forum as much...simply that Hoping us V50 owners drop lucky |

Member: 31408 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Some dude was giving the first 30 people free codes from his new website last week and i was lucky enough to get one.....it worked which was great...but now the phone is doing what it used to - comes on for 10 secs then resets itself. Sometimes gets to register with BTCellnet b4 reset but wont stay on. Ta for those codes - and it's important that newbies arent made to feel like they dont belong on a techie forum....but i acknowledge theyve seen these type of posts often. I'd like to know if someone can post a guide to technical terms etc....for phones that can be unlocked easily (as you state, some codes like 000000 are for all V50 in a certain situation...stuff like that). That #06# is the usual way for IMEI identification or looking under the battery....that # for 3 secs on some V50's gives the test mode screen -- a few useful codes for that would be good too How to disable a search for a SIM card so the phone can be checked out for other things like the time being correct (my dodgy V50 appears to be all over the place with it's time lol) Just general things that apply I had to ask what 'rehotting' was the other day and 'PA' means power amplifier i understand now |
