Who locks these phones and how do you guys figure out the unlocking codes? - GSM-Forum

im very new to this and just heard about locked phones and can only assume its the carriers who of course want to keep you on their service and not to go to anothers.

So i guess they lock them.

But what I find really amazing and interesting is how do you guys figure out these unlocking codes from someone giving you thr IMEI number?

NETWORK PROVIDER LOCK sets becuase thay don't work on other providers..

We have dongle + software which have stored NOKIA unlock codes algo. so we calculate unlock codes using dongle.
