Samsung S5 Mini Pattern Lock - SM-G800H not detected

Hi,

I need to remove the pattern lock on a Samsung SM-G800H.

I installed the SAMSUNG drivers, but BST Dongle does not detect the phone.
there are no drivers suggested in the "Home --> Driver Helper" window.

I think the phone might be in PTP mode because of the following symptoms:
- When I connect the phone to my PC, Windows sees it as a camera device.
- When I connect it to a PC with Samsung Kies installed, the phone is not detected and it says that the connection mode of the phone must be MTP.

Is there a way to confirm this if the device is locked?
If it is indeed in PTP mode, is there anything I can do (with BST or otherwise) to remove the pattern lock without losing data?

Flash twrp and remove via twrp manually ))) mount system and data, go to asvanced -> file manager. Go to directory data/system. Find files with .key extension and delete all...voila..

Since I'm usually using automated tools when it comes to accessing cell phones, I'm not familiar with those techniques. Are they dangerous for the data?

No it is not dangerous. It is safe for system and user data. But knox will trip and you will lose warranty.
